Therapy House The Gap, Brisbane

Assessments

Assessment processes can vary across psychology clinics and clinicians. Here is exactly how ours works.

Therapy House is located in The Gap, Brisbane Northside and has provisional practitioners and fully registered psychologists trained in assessment.

Only provisional psychologists with relevant training undertake assessment cases, and all reports are signed off by a fully registered psychologist.

How the process works

  1. Call the clinic and let the team know you are seeking assessment.
  2. Send an email with a brief description of reasons for seeking assessment.
  3. Reception discusses the request with the clinical team leader and advises who would be the best clinician.
  4. Complete online background forms before intake so the clinician can review background information.
  5. After intake, the clinician discusses assessment options and the most appropriate process.
  6. Book assessment sessions through reception based on family and clinician availability and the person's capacity to focus.
  7. The clinician may require up to four weeks from the last assessment session to analyse, interpret, receive collateral information and write the report.
  8. Once payment has been received and the report is finalised, a feedback session can be booked.
